There are several terrifying Horror films that may make people afraid. A few examples of such movies are Jason, The Nightmare on Elm Street and The Ring, just naming a few.
sometimes its scary but sometimes its not mystery movies are really not that scary when there trying to be scary
Its scary, but it's not super freaky! Highly recommended for people who like non SUPER FREAKY horror films!
This is a matter of opinion. The Exorcist is definitely one of the top horror films of all time, but scary is a relative word.
Found footage horror films have become very popular over recent years because the manner in which they are filmed makes them looks like they are actually real. If the audience sees the film as something that is really happening, it becomes much more scary.
Well The Scream movies are horror films and the scary movies are comedy so they are entirely different but Both are good :)

A sub genre of what? A genre can be called a grouping of things based on like characteristics. Therefore, in films, Horror is a genre, wherein the subset of films contained in that genre are scary. Slasher Horror is a sub-genre of Horror, wherein the subset of films in the subgenre are films that are scary and focus on a villain/monster/antagonist that kills or injures his victims with some sharp, slashing instrument. A poem could be considered a subset of writing, however, applying the word sub-genre would not be the clearest way to define it.
frighting scary
I'd really say it'd depend on the creators. You get an Asian Steven King, POW; you got yourself a good horror plot. I am not much familiar with Asian pop culture however. If someone would care to fill this in?Personally, I have to say Asian horror films. They're more creative. American mostly remake Asian horror films. Such as The Grudge, The Ring, Mirrors, One Missed Call, Pulse, The Eye, A Tale Of Two Sisters... The remakes aren't that well made, either. Also, I don't find many American films frightening. It's just blunt gore. Asian horror films usually have very interesting plots. The only American horror films I thoroughly enjoy is Stephen King films.
