Few to none: The War of 1812 lasted only two years; Vietnam lasted over a decade. The US defeated Britain, the US lost the war of communist aggression in Vietnam. the closest war to Vietnam would be the US Civil War: 1. Both the Civil War & Vietnam War were un-declared wars. 2. Both wars were fought between North & South. 3. Both wars had the first military draft and the last military draft. 4. Both wars divided the United States. 5. Both wars had an assassinated president; Lincoln and Kennedy. 6. Both wars had a Vice President Johnson. 7. Both wars had a civil rights movement (issue). 8. Both wars had draft riots. 9. Both wars the South lost the war. 10. Both wars had a Splendid Little War (a name given by the press for the Spanish-American War of 1898) & the "100 Hour War" (a name given by the press for Operation Desert Storm of January/February 1991) which re-united the United States from the Civil War/Vietnam War. As President Bush Sr. stated, "...we have beat the Vietnam Syndrome..."
The American Revolution was a bloody seven year war and the Glorious Revolution was mostly bloodless.
The Glorious Revolution of 1688 took place because the English people did not want to live under an a Catholic monarch.
The American Revolution and the War of 1812 are both different yet similar at the same time. Both wars were both manly fought by the North American colonists and the British. The French fought on the American side during both wars. Both were started by different issues, but both did have an issue with trade (mercantilism and international trade issues). Some causes to the American Revolution were that Britain interfered with economic and political affairs in the colonies. The Quartering Act is an example of Britain interfering with political interference, and Stamp Act is an example of Britain interfering with economic interference. The colonist didn't like it and decided to rebel against their mother country. People began to boycott against British goods, an example would be the Boston Tea Party, known as the Boston Massacre. Only a few were killed but it was exaggerated greatly. This opened many people's eyes and ideas like natural rights encouraged people to break away from England. Both wars included the Treaty of Paris 1783, but were used in different ways. In the American Revolution the Treaty of Paris 1783 was used as their outcome, giving them independence and made them stronger as a country. In the War of 1812 it was a cause. The British were not following what was agreed in the treaty. Tecumseh was a Shawnee chief and in the American Revolution the Shawnee Indians, along with the Cherokee, Iroquois, and Creeks, fought with the British. Tecumseh was a threat to the American power because he founded a village for his followers near the Wabash and Tippecanoe Rivers. Oliver Hazard Perry and Horatio Gates both lead unorganized battles, and suffered casualties. James Madison served as commander and chief, and president in the War of 1812, and George Washington served as commander and chief in the American Revolution. Both men were very dedicated and did so much for the battles; they had a lot to do with how our country is today. The battles at Lexington and Concord the Battle of Yorktown, and the small battle while defending fort McHenry are a little the same. They both were important and without them we wouldn't have the important events happen, like The Battle of New Orleans. Both of these wars had a turning point battle (Battle of Saratoga and Battle of New Orleans), they made the wars and helped shape our country. They also showed our dedication and heart we have for our home. The outcomes of these battles were mostly the same. Both had an Era of Good Feelings, but it wasn't stated in the American Revolution, and was much greater after the War of 1812. After the Revolution America was very proud and was happy they were cut from England, they were also proud of becoming an independent, free, and whole country. After the War of 1812 it was actually stated that America had an Era of Good Feelings. They were very proud of themselves again for defeating the almighty Great Britain. After the war America also was able to expand more west which led to them making more roads, canals, businesses, and that expanded their economy. In return America grew stronger. Both wars ended with a treaty (Treaty of Paris 1783 and Treaty of Ghent). The Treaty of Paris recognized the new independent United States and set new nation borders. The Treaty of Ghent was a peace treaty that caught the Federalists by surprise. Both wars also affected political parties. After the American Revolution the power and popularity of the political parties went up but after the War of 1812 the power and popularity of the parties went down.
The Glorious Revolution
The Glorious Revolution brought a new type of government to Britain. England now had a Protestant ruler and a Bill of Rights meaning there was no longer an absolute power. This had little effect on the colonies and empire because parliament as well as the monarchy wanted to expand British rule because of the economic growth new territories allowed.
The Glorious Revolution of 1688 was primarily a victory for the people of England. The revolution was between the King and Parliament (the representatives of the people).
''Nobody was killed'' - I would add that it was 'glorious' for the whigs, because after the revolution, William III gave the Parliament and the citizens more rights than they had before. Because it was bloodless
Two major results of the Glorious revolution were the establishment of a constitutional monarchy and the establishment of the protestant church. After the Glorious revolution, England became a constitutional monarchy with a bill of rights. This meant that the monarchy no longer had total control. Protestantism was also established as the official religion of England.
The American revolution was a war caused by evolution of thought. The French revolution was a bloody revolution in every sense of the word and went through all the stages. The Glorious Revolution was bloodless and a the daughter of the king and her husband were put in his place.
they are both the same no difference there same but they gave it two names (american revolution and glorious revolution) who ever wrote this is wrong the american revolution was because we wanted to be independent from england. where as the glorious revolution was a flip-flop in government where they got rid of an absolute monarchy and got a better government in england
