The Palestinian Territories is a term used to refer to the areas of the former British Mandate of Palestine that were not under Israeli or Syrian control by the end of the Arab-Israeli War of 1948-9. They would eventually be considered the grounds upon which an independent Arab Palestinian State would be founded.
The territories include: the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem (including the Old City of Jerusalem).

the Gaza strip
It is in the west bank of the Palestinian territories in Israel.
There have never been Palestinian troops in Israel since there is no such thing as a Palestinian Army. (The Palestinian Authority has a Police Force and a Paramilitary Wing, but no proper army.) The Israeli Army has patrolled the Palestinian Territories since 1967.
The Palestinian Territories consist of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in Israel; the UN refers to them as the "Occupied Palestinian Territories' and are a priority of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
