It is a high intensity work out which should over load the muscles which offers the most room for improvements when the threshold has been passed
It helps to prevent certain health problems such as cardiovascular disease, obesity, low Back pain, Arthritis, type 2 Diabetes and certain types of cancer
It also helps to make the body more efficent during exercise and even every day activities.
Anaerobic exercise is also the best type os training to do to loose weight
It improves posture which reduces the risk of problems such as lower back pain in the future.
Disadvantages include:
As it involves quick high burst of maximal energy lactic acid is produced quickly and can lead to sworeness if not removed through stretching and a cool down.
The anaerobic energy system is used for quick burst of energy so does not work on stamina so this type of training is good for strength work or power and would not be used for endurance sports.
