Ssimplicity and weight. An air cooled engine has no water pump, thermostat, radiator, water passageways, etc. They are also cheaper, though since most air cooled motorcycles are used, you won't see much gain there. Some people feel they also look better on crusers and vintage bikes.

How long can a motorcycle engine stay hot after it is turned off?

no it can not it depends on ambiant temperature and wind if it is air cooled and a little longer if liquid cooled

What are the advantages and disadvantages of an air cooled condensers over that of a fan cooled in refrigeration?

The air cooled can be more efficient because they will use less energy. They are difficult to maintain if it stays too hot.

Is motorcycle oil the same as car oil?

Yes there is no difference. I would however recommend you use synthetic oil in a motorcycle especially an air cooled one.

What is an air cooled engine?

Where do you put coolant in ttr 125 motorcycle?

What kind of oil does air cooled engines use?

Air cooled, umm it depends on what type of engine you are talking about, if its a motorcycle it would be 10w-40 made for an air cooled small engine.there really a diff. if its new go 10w-30 older i would say 10w-40 Synthetic

Do motorcycles need water?

If the motorcycle is liquid cooled (like the Suzuki Intruder VS800) it will need water and anti-freeze and will have a radiator. Air cooled motorcycles do not need water. Some air cooled motorcycles have a oil cooler (like the Suzuki Intruder VS1400) which looks like a small radiator, but not many.

What are the Advantages of an air cooled car?

Generally, air cooled engines require less maintenance associated with a wet cooling system. Hoses, pumps, and radiators naturally age and eventually will leak or fail in another manner.

What kind of motorcycle is Suzuki GS1000?

The Suzuki GS1000 is a vintage motorcycle. They are a line of Suzuki motorcycles. They have air-cooled parallel-twin. They also have inline four engines with two or four valves for each cylinder.

In motorbike terms what does 'watercooled' and 'air cooled' mean?

well a watercooled motorcycle has a radiator much like a car... it works the same way, you would see it on the front of the bike, behind the front tire... this type of cooling is great for in town or when doing a lot of idling because it is automatically keeping the engine at a proper temperature all the time... an air cooled motorcycle engine is cooled by the wind and air around the motorcycle while driving... therefore if you are spending a lot of time idling there is little wind cooling the engine and there is a possibility of the engine over heating or running too hot... what this means is if you're spending more time on the highway than you are idling, air cooled is perfectly fine and a little cheaper, if you spend more time idling than you do on the highway than you may be better off getting a water cooled bike
