As an owner of a Mac, I can say some things about the new MacBook Air. It has Windows, which is pretty sweet if you ask me. You can design web pages using Microsoft Word. If you live in a major city and you have a Mac, you can use it to see the weather! There are slide puzzles, and there's a message board. What's not to like about the Mac?

1. The WONDERFUL times you have when your apps crash. Especially the full-screen ones. Mega fun. 2. Overpriced computers! W00t! 3. Not knowing proper grammar! 4. Not being able to use apps because no one but Apple makes Mac OS X apps. ______________________________________________________________________________________ NOT true. I am a Mac owner and run Mac OS X. Here are some advantages that I have found. 1. High quality hardware: Macs may be expensive, but they're worth it. Macs are very tough and take a lot of abuse, also they last a long time if you treat them well. My mac is a Titanium PowerBook G4, and 7 years old. It's still working great! (except for the old outdated Mac OS [10.2.8] and lack of enough RAM) 2. FYI person who answered first a lot of companies make Mac apps. 3. Ease of use: Mac OS has always been a highly user freindly operating system. for example, If it doesn't know what app to open something in a window will come up that says "There is no default application to open the document....." On Windows it comes up with this confusing message. (I don't remember it right now) 4. More powerful OS: Mac OS X Is a More powerful OS than Windows. It can handle all of the high end graphics design programs better than Windows. It also has better graphics capabilities. 5. Crash Protection: Mac OS X Has a Tiny kernel OS within it called Mach. Everything that the Mac OS does runs through it first instead of going directly to the hardware like the classic Mac OS and if something goes wrong, the outcome is a crash. (Bomb message) When apps stop and a message comes up saying that the app has unexpectedly quit, it has encountered a problem and mach stops it before it causes any system problems. The famous "Blue Screen of Death" is nonexistent on a Mac. 6. Older and Wiser: Finally, Mac OS has been around longer than Windows, and has had a lot of improvments made to it so it will have many more advantages in the coming years.

PC computers are better over Macs when it comes to gaming. PCs can connect straight to one's television while Macs require a special converter dongle. The ways of the PC are different than a Mac so it may take longer for one to learn to efficiently use a Mac.

Mac OS X can only be installed on Apple hardware so Vmware is unable to support Mac OS X on anything other than a Mac by running, for example, a virtual installation of Mac OS X Server on a standard Mac OS X machine. Conversely Vmware's Fusion allows the running of Windows, and other operating systems, on an Intel Mac running Mac OS X.

How do you downgrade from Mac OS X to Mac OS 9?

You cannot without erasing your hard drive and installing Mac OS 9 from scratch. Even then Mac OS 9 may not run on modern Mac hardware because Mac OS 9 needs the ROM chip to boot. Modern Mac OS X hardware uses EFI to boot the system instead of a ROM chip to boot. Mac OS X v10.0 - Mac OS X v10.4 support Mac OS 9 applications and can run them, you just need to install the Mac OS 9 compatibility program which can be found on the Mac OS X Install CD.
