This is a very broad term, so my opinion, if you're simply replacing worn or damaged parts, then I tend to replace them with OEM parts. I do this because I would trust the manufacturer's part over a third party. As for performance parts, this is highly subjective, not to mention the fact that some aftermarket companies tend to inflate performance claims on a product. I would research on a particular part you want (ex: aftermarket exhaust), look at car communities/forums to see what worked best from other owners, then base your decision on that.
I think you mean hydraulic clutch. I believe your model is hydraulic.
The Prelude was under its own platform, so as such, very little of other models' parts are interchangeable. You can swap out some of the 4th generation's ('92-'96) parts to the 5th gen ('97-'01), such as the rear suspension and motor (H22 series).
What's the question?
The type of automatic transmission fluid that you should put in your 1997 Honda Prelude varies depending on the transmission. Honda recommends that you use their own brand of ATF when you replace the fluid in the SportShift transmission.
prelude's depending on spec can most deffinately be awd/4wd.. 100% 4ws,for best results go to a Honda search engine/site & you can read all about body/engine type / drive train / capacity.. even why & how the Honda prelude range was made.
A Honda's resale value depends on the type of Honda you are interested in. A 2001 Honda Prelude has a higher resale value than the 2002 Honda Passport.
Provided the '97 Prelude is a base model, then yes it is possible to swap in an H22a variant. The Prelude Type SH motor is different as the ATTS unit is connected to the motor. So, the only compatible H22a motors would be one from another Type SH, or the JDM Honda Prelude Type S motor.
That is like the Honda Prelude Type S, which was only sold in Japan and in the United Kingdom. It had an output of 220 PS (217 hp).
There are two exhaust parts on the Honda civic Type R 02.
If it's a Sport Shift (auto), then you use Honda's auto transmission fluid. If it's a manual, Honda's manual transmission fluid. Use no other fluid in your Honda.
If you are looking at the fastest production versions of either car (ex: RSX Type S vs. Prelude VTEC), then the RSX would about match with the Prelude 0-60, but be a little faster in the quarter mile.
it is on the back of the engine block below the oil filter on the base model prelude. type sh model isn't as easy to find
