Jindo dogs can be aggressive, but are extremely loyal dogs. They do bark at unknown people, but they don't attack unless they are chained at all times. If you give a Jindo dog to someone after they have lived with you for at least 2 years, and if the new owner isn't very caring or gentle, then it may come and search for you. That is how loyal they are.
Jindo (진돗개 Jindo Dog) is a Korean breed of dog traditionally used for hunting and guarding. Its named after its island of origin: Jindo. While rare outside of Korea, they are one of the most commonly seen dogs in Korea and are protected by the Korean government as a National Treasure.
Dr. Phil was informed by the shelter that the dog was a Labrador Retriever and American Eskimo dog mix. He was later ill-advised that his dog was a purebred Korean Jindo. His dog is not a Korean Jindo.
Jindo dogs can be fed any regular dog appropriate diet so long as the individual dog does not have special needs such as food allergies or other health conditions that affect their diet.
I would not suggest a Jindo for a first time dog owner, as you need to be in control and the alpha at all times with this breed. However, for a seasoned dog owner used to owning a strong, intelligent and crafty dog, they are perfect.
