the advantages is that the computer engineering is playing lots of games == You will work long hours and may be on call around the clock to solve system issues for corporations.
Computer engineering is closely related to computer science which does not necessarily require a technical background. The bottom line is that if you endure all the terrible education that it takes to be an engineer, you want to be in a field that cannot be replaced by an intelligent high school kid who read a C++ manual.
