One consequence of Adam's and Eve's disrespect for God is the loss of a garden paradise as the home for human beings. Another consequence is the hard work of survival to which Adam doomed himself and human beings. Because of Adam's disobedience, people have to work hard for the money. Still another consequence is the pain of childbearing to which Eve doomed herself and all subsequent mothers. Yet another consequence is the slithering, sneaky ground existence to which the sinister serpent doomed itself and snakes. Because of the serpent's enticements, human beings and snakes are to have an uncomfortable, even threatening interaction to work out for all time.

Assuming you're referencing the Fall, it's almost safe to ask what isn't an effect of the Fall? By partaking of the fruit, he gained a knowledge of good and evil. If he hadn't had taken the fruit he would have remained forever in the same state as when he was first created and had no children. However, he did partake of the fruit and now knowing of good and evil he was able to later have children. Mankind sprang from this transgression. However, since he was no longer worthy to be in the Garden of Eden and be in the presence of God, he was sent out of the Garden. Mankind, being in a fallen and sinful state could never be with God again, despite having a form of Godliness and knowing good from evil, save it were possible someone saved them from the fall. That of course is Jesus Christ.

Even though you may not have heard of this book or read it, a good source of knowledge can be found in 2nd Nephi chapter 2, specifically verses 22-27

I testify that the book which this reference comes from, The Book of Mormon, is true and if you seek it diligently with the intent to find answers to your questions, you will find them.

The consequences for Adam was that he had to work hard and provide for his family. Before he ate the apple, God provided for them. He also realized different emotions; embarassment, shame etc. This was not presented before because sin did not exist until the serpent made it.

A:The Book of Genesis tells us that Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, thus becoming god-like themselves (Genesis 3:22: "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us..."), but also now aware of their mortality.

Augustine of Hippo (354-430) developed the concept of original sin, saying it resulted directly from the disobedience of Adam and Eve. He believed that original sin could only be removed by baptism, so without baptism, souls could not go to heaven.

In more recent times, Christian Churches have modified their doctrine of original sin. Moreover, major denominations no longer regard Adam and Eve as literally the first two humans on earth, living just a few thousand years ago. Perhaps a little ahead of his Church's official position, Cardinal George Pell, in a recent televised debate, said that the story of Adam and Eve is a myth - a religious story told for religious purposes. Adam and Eve can no longer be blamed for original sin that Christian tradition said that we all bear.
