A Marine Corps Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) is an enlisted person with the rank of Corporal and Sergeant. A NCO is the first line of Marine Corps leadership. They are responsible for traing and supervising junior Marines. Marine in the rank of Staff Sergeant to Sergeant Major are Staff Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCO). They are responsible for supervision, training and mission accomplishment of their units. SNCOs also serve as advisors to Commanding Officers and Platoon Commanders.
