On hydraulic lifter engines tighten the rocker arm adjustment nut 3/4 turn after you have found zero lash adjustment point. On an engine with solid lifters set then to .026 cold.

what is the torque specs and valve lash on a 24 hp Briggs
All factory 455 olds were equipped with hydraulic lifters so about a quarter turn tighter than zero lash.
Zero lash then one turn in. (assuming this is a stock Chevy 350)
There is no adjustment.
Valve lash specs on the H Farmall 1942 Serial number 106300 refer to the tune up specifications for that particular tractor. On some varieties, the point gap is .020 and on some the timing mark is on MP.
From the Honda spec book: Intake = .002", Exhaust .002"
The valve lash is not adjustable on that engine. The rocker arms are bolted down and torqued to specs. If you have valve clatter you have worn valve train parts.
Purchase a Haynes or Chilton's repair manual at any auto parts store. Here you will find all the valve and torque specs.
There is no setting....they are torqued to 20 foot pounds.
Intake valves are set at 4 thousandths and exhaust set at 6 thousandths.
