Best Answer
A:Prior to around the seventh or eighth century BCE, the Persians, a west Iranian people, were polytheistic. With the arrival of Zoroastrianism from eastern Iran, they converted to this ancient monotheistic religion, with Ahura Mazda ('Wise Lord') as their god. There were lesser spirits, worthy of worship or veneration, who could be likened to Christianity's archangels, as well as Angra Mainyu, who can be likened to the Christian Satan.
