The answer to this is complicated, since there are many factors involved. I am answering at the standpoint of a US citizen. If you are from Another Country the answer could be quite different.
It depends on the requirements of the employer. The age that you are allowed to work, (for the type of work you are seeking) and the laws in the country you will be traveling to.
You are required to have a passport to travel outside the US. You can obtain a passport at any age, but there are restrictions.
If you are between the ages of 12 and 18 you need affidavits from both parents allowing you to leave the US.
You may qualify if you are 18, however if you have to be over that age to do a certain job in another country you would have to find out from the American Embassy in that country if it was legal and if you would be protected to work in that country.
If you are over the age of 21, I would still tell you that it depends on the requirement of the employer, but it would be more likely that you could qualify.
Before deciding to leave the US I would Google the country that is overseas and find out if it is hostile to Americans, and if they are currently at war.
