This is a highly individual decision. The family of the deceased may choose certain songs or types of music to be played at the viewing and funeral, or there may be none at all. Somber music is often chosen, but not always.
There is a considerable variety of this. I have heard slang-like Jazz Music at the funeral Mass of a Judge!- in a Catholic Church a few years ago replete with hand-slapping and so on, a Judge, mind you, for the viewing portion she was attired in deep red dress which was appropriate. In The German Army RED was the color of arm of service for all Judicial personnel, in different shades for what we call Judge Advocates, Lawyers, Judges , etc. a neat custom- but again nothing standard on funerary music- I was somewhat shocked to hear bonking stuff one would associate with MOTOWN, rather than the House of the Lord.
Well this is my personal choice but what about you raise me up by westlife it's a peacefully song with lyrics about good times you've had and when they've lifted your spirits up.. Hope it helped
The original answer (below) has the lyrics to one song. There are many songs that are played. Two that come to mind are Amazing Grace and On Eagle's Wings. Taps will be played on a bugle if it is a military funeral. There are a couple of links in the related links which list many popular songs. One even has links to iTunes to listen to them.
Original Post:
When I die don't cry for me
In my father's arms I'll be
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I'll be whole
Sun and moon will be replaced
With the light of Jesus face
And I will not be ashamed
For my Saviour knows my name
It don't matter where you bury me
I'll be home and I'll be free
It don't matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away
Gold and silver blind the eye
Temporary riches light
Come and eat from Heavens store
Come and drink, and thirst no more
So weep not for me my friend
When my time below does end
For my life belongs to Him
Who will raise the dead again
It don't matter, where you bury me
I'll be home and I'll be free
It don't matter, where I lay
All my tears be washed away
It don't matter, they're washed away
It don't matter, they're washed away
It don't matter, they're washed away
Yeah, yeah, yeah
It don't matter where you bury me
Yeah, yeah, yeah
They're washed away
They're washed away
An elegy is a poem or plaintive song for the dead, you would mostly likely hear it at a funeral.
At a Military funeral ceremony.
The best place to hear Chopin's Funeral March is at an actual funeral, however, as it is not recommended that you crash a funeral, the next best place to hear it would be to go to your local music store and see if they have it on a CD.
You would make your wishes known to the funeral director when you meet to set up the arrangements for the funeral.
He disappears off into the sunset. The last we hear about him is the song at the Phoenix song at Dumbledore's Funeral.

yes
I recently asked the same question and after giving it some thought and going through some old song I think the title of the song she sang was "What Shall I Do". If someone has something different I would love to hear as I would really like to know for sure.
The title of the song is "Do You Hear What I Hear?" The second stanza has the little lamb telling the shepherd boy that there is "A song, a song, High above the tree, With a voice as big as the sea."
A nice song to sing would be Amazing Grace, or Hallelujah.
