Buddhism doesn't use the term "prophet" as this implies a messenger sent by a deity. Although there are many deities (devas) mentioned in Buddhism, they are impermanent and not of great importance. According to the Tipitika (the Buddhist canon), the founder of Buddhism, the Buddha, arrived with advance knowledge by the Gods of the 33 and attained enlightenment.
Islam - Mohammed
Christianity - Jesus
Judaism - Moses
Hindusism - Lord Sri Krishna is known as God
Buddhism - Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha)
Hinduism believes in reincarnation, and Buddhism has no gods or prophets. Islam is the only monotheistic religion of the six. Shintoism believes in many different gods. All have different views on after death, but all have similar beliefs and practices.
Generally speaking the term Prophets may not be suitable for usage in the religions like Sikhism, Buddhism or Jainism because of what the term represent . But in Sikh usage the equivalent would be "Guru", which is the same as for Buddhism and Jainism. In Hinduism both Prophets and Guru are present.
There are none. Prophets generally are sent by a deity, Buddhism does not have a deity.
Buddhism does not believe in prophets!
The prophets/teachers of all belief systems/religions are authentic symbols of divinity and spirituality to the followers. There are other people who believe that all religions Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism etc. and their respective teachers/prophets provided false accounts of divine reality.
Hinduism is the religion of the Hindus, a name given to the Universal Religion which hailed supreme in India. It is the oldest of all living religions. This is not founded by any prophet. Buddhism, Christianity and Mohammedanism owe their origin to the prophets. Their dates are fixed. But no such date can be fixed for Hinduism. Hinduism is not born of the teachings of particular prophets. It is not based on a set of dogmas preached by a particular set of teachers. It is free from religious fanaticism. Hinduism
A prophet is a messenger sent by a deity to advise a group of the deity's intentions. As Buddhism has no deity there are no prophets in Buddhism. It is a non-prophet organizarion.
there isn't a profet, but there is a founders who are the Aryans. Hinduism has no single founder. The Aryans, who invaded India about 4,000 years ago, brought early Hindu gods, such as Shiva.
According to Islam, all of God's prophets were Muslims (Submitters to the will of God). Starting from Adam to Muhammad. Therefore Islam (Submission) started with Adam. Hinduism, and Buddhism (non-Abrahamic) followed. Moses( a Muslim) followed. He was specifically sent to the Jews (God's Chosen) to reaffirm the same religion of Adam, Noah, and Abraham thru the Torah and the Ten Commandments. The religion was not named or recognized as Judaism until the 14th century. Until then, the race and religion had the same name, Jews (Yahud,Yahudi). Jesus (a Muslim) followed. He was also sent to the Jews to reconfirm the teachings of past prophets (thru Bible) but was basically rejected by them except for a few. Those few and non Jewish followers were named Massihs or Massiah followers (Christians). Muhammad (a Muslim) was sent to spread Islam, the religion of past prophets, thru the Quran, as a mercy to the rest of humanity.
Technically, Buddhism's holy persons, such as Gautama Buddha would be considered gurus.
