I have owned two calico cats over the years. The first one, Daisy was an abandoned cat who was the sweetest, most loving lap cat. She truly understood me, and I still miss her greatly. She especially loved to greet children. I called her the 'perfect cat'--she passed away after only 5 years with me. Still miss her greatly. I adopted another calico cat--Honey, who is very feisty, high strung, very mischievous yet is affectionate in her own way. She had a 'biting' problem as a kitten but is much better now that she is around 2 years old. Honey gets afraid of certain people, but is getting more socialized. She loves to 'hit' me with her paws.
So, in my experience, I don't think calico cats have common particular personality traits. I think that cats have different personalities like people--and their fur colors or combination have nothing to do with their personalities. But Honey and Daisy had the same type of meow and chirping sound that a Calico makes.
