positive, you regain your voice and swallow
negative, you may need to have it reinserted if it was placed for cronic disease like advanced COPD. Usually we cover the site for a week with a bulk dressing and if the patient tolerates it, then we consider closing the trache site. Usually it just heals closed without even a suture.
