Answer 1From Islam perspective, the Qur'an which is Muslim's God holy book, describes in detail the divinity of the Torah and how it was revealed by God to prophet Moses (peace be upon him). Accordingly, per Qur'an, Torah is God holy book.

Answer 2

1) The Torah states that it is the words of God (Exodus 24:12).

2) Tradition states that the Torah is from God. This is why we have treasured it and been willing to live by it and die for it.

3) The Torah contains many predictions that have come true; some in our own time.

Answer 3The arguments listed in Answer 2 are fully convincing and agreeable. However, I wonder that the same arguments hold for Qur'an while some claim that Qur'an is human text book. It is mentioned in Qur'an that it God revelation words. Qur'an mentioned many scientific facts that were only validated and proved through current advances in sciences and discoveries. Qur'an included predictions that have come true later.

What are the proofs that the Torah is a holy book given by God?

Answer 1That kind of thing cannot be conclusively proven. We can see what even non-Jewish scholars have cited as the beauty of the Torah, its majesty, its morality, its fulfilled prophecies, its multi-layered wisdom, commentary and mystery, and much more. But in the final analysis, the Divine source of the Torah is a matter of 1) belief, and 2) national tradition. The Jewish nation has an unbroken 3300-year chain of tradition in this matter. Why Muslims consider Christianity and Jew (people of a book)?

Muslims call the followers of Moses and Jesus (the Jews and the Christians respectively) people of the book. This means followers of the holy book Torah and followers of the holy book the Bible. Christians are the followers of Christianity per God revelation of The Bible to Prophet Jesus (Isa in Arabic) and the Jews are the followers of Judaism per God revelation of Torah to Prophet Moses (Musa in Arabic). Muslims are the followers of Islam per God revelation of Quran to Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon them all). Since Muslims believe in all God holy books including Torah, the Bible, and the Quran and believe in all God prophets including Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (PBU them), they call the followers of Moses and Jesus (the Jews and the Christians respectively) people of the book.
