Make sure you are feeding them High Protein food. You want to stay away from food with any by-products, like chicken or beef or any other meat. Poultry is not good either. Don't overfeed your Boston either. I own a kennel in Ohio and I see alot of overweight Bostons'. I feed my Boston 1 c. a day. That is enough for him but he is also small than other Boston's so if yours is bigger feed 1 1/2 c. or 1 1/3 c. I also give mine plenty of rawhides and chewies because it keeps him busy. If you are not looking to breed, then you need to have your dog altered. Your dog will live longer and it will listen better and behave better. Anyways
Bostons do best on a Grain free diet because many are allergic to wheat. This is what causes the paw licking and hot spots and high vet bills. Table food can give these small dogs terrible gas so your better sticking with a 4-5 star dog food which you can find at Petco or online. I never feed my Boston any grocery store dog food because it will make my dog's skin break down and itch. Beneful, Alpo, etc. are not well tolerated by Bostons because they are full of fillers and wheat and the lowest grade meat they can find. Go to dogfoodreviews.com
