Most sacred places in Hinduism are of the physical geography in India. For example, a certain town or village may be of importance to the religion. And rarely do Hindus actually pray in the temples. It's for gatherings and parties and festivals.

There are many holy places for Hindus. Some of them are Hrishikesh & Badrinath, Varanasi, Mathura, Dwarka, Rameshwaram, Vrindavan and many more. Each of these are holy because of the presence of some holy temple or being part of ancient history.

the place of worship for Hinduism is a Hindu temple

Mandir (meaning temple)

Temple is the place of worship in Hinduism. Temple is the abode of Hindu Gods.

Completely disagree with thepart 'And rarely do Hindus actually pray in the temples. It's for gatherings and parties and festivals.'
