There is no true title as safest state in the US. One can do their own conclusion of which state is the safest by using evidence such as murder rates or overall crime rates.
If using murder rates, then the safest state would be New Hampshire, having 1 murder per 100,000 citizens.
If using crime rates (by counting the number of prisoners in jail), then the safest state is North Dakota, having only 1,486 prisoners.
Based on crime statistics, New Hampshire is the safest state. Out of it's 3.9 million people, there were only 39 murders! WOW!
