There arent really any short term effects of no exercise. The Long term effects are the possibility of * Diabetes * High Blood pressure * Heart disease. No exercise also contributes to obesity and hign cholusterol. It also gives you acne and in some cases stretchmarks. Overall no exercise is not good.

Unless you have a naturally high metabolism like some lucky individuals, you will get fat. Which is bad for cosmetic and other health reasons. Not having a healthy diet and balanced amount of exercise can shorten your lifespan. Everyone should try to get some exercise in everyday, whether that is actually 'exercising' or going for a walk at lunch.
