First, God cursed the Serpent to crawl and lick the dust, rather than be the pretty creature he had been before. Second, in Genesis 3:16, God said to Eve that he would greatly increase her pains in childbirth. Third, we read in the same verse, that the woman's desire will be for her husband and he will rule over her. Fourth, verses 17 and 18 tell us that man would have to painfully work the ground for his food. The ground would also produce thorns and thistles and man will eat the plants of the field. Fifth, God told Adam that man would return to the ground as dust after he dies as shown in verse 19. Sixth, the punishment for Adam and Eve, stated in verses 23 and 24, would be banishment from the Garden of Eden.

The serpent in the mythological creation story of the Bible is not the devil. That is only Christian supposition, especially since the creation story is not meant to be taken as true.

Was Lucider the serpent?

Yes he was but he is also connected with cattle and trees. Kind of weird but the info is there. Look at the curse on him in Genisis. Medical symbol is the serpent on a staff or tree. Some odd relationships to be studied out.

In the Garden of Eden was the serpent beast before the curse?

In Christian tradition, the serpent is typically associated with Satan or evil due to its role in tempting Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, leading to the Fall of Man. The idea of the serpent being a beast before the curse is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible, but it is generally understood that the serpent was a cunning and deceitful creature in the Garden of Eden.

Was the snake Satan in the garden of eden?

It was a serpent in the Garden and the serpent spoke to Eve. There is no indication that the serpent was a snake or that it was not in some other form before God found out what Eve and Adam had done. It was then that God told the serpent that he would crawl on his belly and eat the dust of man forever. Why would God curse something that already was. In other words God would not curse the serpent to not walk if it was already not walking. So it stands to reason that if the serpent was cursed to crawl then it was apparently walking before the curse that God put on it. Plus it also communicated to Eve to disobey God's law.Serpent is a word of Latin origin (from serpens, serpentis "something that creeps. So couldn't the creeper have been something else that creeped. Maybe a fallen angel that worked against God and when God discovered what he had done cursed this angel and all of its offspring to crawl on its belly forever thus a snake.

When evil first came among mankind?

If evil can be defined as ill intended toward another being, then I would suspect it began with the serpent in the Garden of Eden (Genesis, chapter 3).
