A 1989 Honda Civic did not make use of a transmission fluid dipstick. Instead there are two bolts available. A filler bolt and a drain bolt.
Propping the hood of a 1989 Honda Accord will allow driver to see the whole engine bay. The transmission is on the left and sticking upwards from it's housing will be the dipstick.
Honda maintance book says 2.5 qts.
If its a 89 Honda CRX si wih manual transmission, use genuine Honda MTF. You can purchase it at any Honda or Acura dealer near you.
The left CV joint can be replaced on a 1989 Honda Accord by removing the left tire and the moving the brake lines. Next, the ball joint and the tie rod should be removed, which will allow for their to be enough room to use a pry bar against the transmission which will pop out the CV joint.

They do if it is an automatic transmission. The Prelude (except Si) has the same manual transmission as well. The Prelude Si has a slightly different manual transmission, but it will still fit into a 1986-1989 Accord.

At the dipstick. It is down in between the radiator and the engine.
With the 2.0 and 2.1 the only tranny that will swap is from the 2.0 or 2.1
