A faulty starter can present itself in MANY ways:
* pulling too much current. * Only "clicks" then nothing. * Does NOTHING, not even a click. * Starter motor engages but the drive doesn't engage the flywheel. * Turns slowly But then, some of those problems can also be an indication of a low battery, faulty ignition switch, or a problem with the neutral lockout switch.
Troubleshooting requires that you start with an open mind. Recognize that the problem can be from a lot of places and if you just "throw parts" at it, all you're doing is making the troubleshooting process more difficult. Every time you put in an unnecessary part you run the risk of installing something improperly, making future trouble shooting attempts more difficult.
first disconnect the battery. remove the bolts that support the starter. you may have to wiggle the starter out after you disconnect all of the wires going to the starter
if your starter is clicking when u turn it over- that's a good sign.
What ar the symptoms? Check the fluid,is it full? What color is the fluid.
mabye the O2 sensors
You know the starter is going bad when you have a dragging starter.
Low power steering fluid level? Power steering pump going bad?
Im going to assume the code you have given is PO740 on the obd2 scan tool? PO740 is a TCC circuit malfunction
Not sure if its the starter or the battery? Check the battery at a store. They can do a check on it for free. If its good then the starter could be bad. Bad starters don't work or they work intermittently. Usually just ehear a click and then when you retry it starts. That's the symptoms. Most places can also check the starter for you.
It is located behind the bumper in the front center of the engine compartment above the frame support going across (side to side) just in front of the wheels.
Could possibly a solenoid on the starter going bad. Could possibly a solenoid on the starter going bad. Could possibly a solenoid on the starter going bad.
To the best of by knowledge, lesabre came with GM V6 or V8. Unless you has da Northstar (Nostart) engine: Two bolts going straight up mount the starter in place. Two nuts hode the wires on to the starter. The rest is even more oblivious. If you has the Nostart engine: It actually does has a super-secret starter hidden under the intake. U remozez the intake and there is da starter and you take it out and put in new1.
You are probably going to have to remove the radio and take the top off to gain access to the tape. It has probably broken and the tape is fouled.
