What are the timing marks for a 2002 Hyundai Accent 1.6 liter on the camshaft?
the cam shaft has a hole on the hub that should be at approximately 12o'clock a red mark should be visible through the hole. the cramk shaft sprocket has a marking to align with the mark along the case, the keyway should be at about 3o'clock. be sure you at TDC on cylinder 1.
In a 1994 Ford F-150 : There were ( 3 ) engine choices : The 4.9 liter / 300 cubic inch inline six cylinder which has a gear on the crankshaft that meshes with a gear on the camshaft , so there is no timing belt or timing chain The 5.0 liter V8 / 302 cubic inch that has a timing chain The 5.8 liter V8 / 351 cubic inch that has a timing chain
On a 1996 Ford F-150 : The 4.9 liter / 300 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine has a gear on the end of the crankshaft that meshes with a gear on the end of the camshaft so it does not use a timing chain or a timing belt The 5.0 liter / 302 cubic inch V8 and the 5.8 liter / 351 cubic inch V8 engines have a timing CHAIN
no,,,,,it has a timing chain,,,,,not a belt ======================================================== And , if by any chance you have the 4.9 liter / 300 cubic inch INLINE 6 cylinder engine , it has a large gear on the end of the camshaft which meshes with a smaller gear on the end of the crankshaft , so it doesn't have a timing CHAIN or timing BELT
On a 94 mercury tracer with a 1.9L engine if the timing belt slipped a tooth will there be engine noise?
No timing belt , the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine in a 2007 Hyundai Sonata has a timing CHAIN It actually has 2 timing chains One for the cams and one for a combination balance shaft box,oil pump, and sump screen. The box is the weak point of the engine and loves to disintegrate and is currently only available at the dealer for $1200.
