We just did this over the weekend. You need to purchase the tool on this webpage. http://www.etoolcart.com/browseproducts/Ford-Cam-Positioning-Crankshaft-TDC-Timing-Pin.HTML 1. Follow procedure in Haynes manual to remove timing belt. this includes removing the top timing belt cover. 2. Rotate crankshaft to 0 degree and Insert tool in access hole on side of block facing front. Its near the ring gear and just above the oil pan. theres a threaded plug in there. It will thread in all the way when in correct position. MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE TOOL BEFORE YOU START ENGINE. 3. Remove Valve cover. Release belt tensioner and remove belt. 4. Using a ruler, set the camshafts to equal position. this is done on the rear of the camshafts. You will see a slot on the rear of each shaft and two lobes on the top of each shaft. I set the ruler on the top of the two lobes and turned the camshaft until each was equal. 5. Starting on the left camshaft pulley, install belt. Hold in position, and place belt on right pulley. Make sure belt is tight between pulleys. Reset tensioner. Remove the crankshaft tool and rotate the engine a few times. Set at 0 degrees, insert tool and recheck position of camshafts using same ruler procedure. 6. You will need to replace valve cover gasket. 7. Good Luck!!!
