Check vacuum hoses and diaphrams under dash and at firewall
On the firewall above and behind the fuel rail. Two 1/4 inch vacuum hoses come out the bottom and it is held to the firewall by two screws.
Remove the two hoses that go through the firewall to the heater. Connect these two hoses together.
Yes. Just follow the 2 hoses that come out of the firewall on the passenger side. They both go into the heater control valve.
remove hoses from firewall and make sure there is no rust or buildup on tubes. reinstall hoses and make sure hose clamps are really tight. If this doesn't work, your heater core needs to be replaced.
Both of the heater hoses come from the firewall. One runs from the firewall to the water pump, this is the outlet hose. The other hose runs from the firewall to the top of the engine, this is the inlet hose.
Look at the firewall in the back of your engine compartment. You will see two water hoses come out . Unscrew and pull off both hoses. Get a garden hose and cut off metal fitting. Twist on garden hose on one of the pipes sticking out of the firewall. Run hose water through it for 5 minutes. Then repeat on other pipe .
Its more than likely your heater core.
The separation between the engine compartment, and you, is called the firewall. There are two hoses for the 2006 Silverado heater core. Loosen the clamps where the hoses go into the firewall. Twist the hoses gently to break them loose. Slide the hoses off. Follow the hoses to the other end, and repeat the process.
If it is anything like my 93, your heater hoses run from the heatercore through your firewall. Mine is located in the center most are located on the passenger side. Pop your hood look at your firewall you should see two hoses relatively close together coming out of it, those should be your heater hoses, and they are a pain. I'm trying to get them on the new heater core now...
