one answer:

Some people will say excellent things about Milton Academy. It has an outstanding reputation. Numerous graduates have gone on from there to attend (and graduate from) the best universities in the United States and become leaders in their fields.

another answer:

If you are looking at academic reputation, matriculation success and critical academic statistical data, then the best private school in Massachusetts has to be Roxbury Latin. It is the oldest school in continuous operation in North America (1645). Roxbury Latin practices a "needs blind" admissions policy which produces an incredible 39% of its student body on financial aid. In educational circles, it is referred to as "The One True School" and for obviously very good reasons. The school has the lowest acceptance rate of any private secondary school in the country (11.4%), the highest yield (those accepted who attend) an unheard of 91% - a distant second is Andover with 73.8%. Roxbury Latin reportedly has the highest SAT scores in the country (2230 out of 2400), the highest percentage of National Merit Scholars (67% in 2009), highest percentage of IVY plus Stanford and MIT matriculation pipeline (45% last year and a 36% average over 5 years).
