the center bolt is for the harmonic balancer , aka , vibration damper or torsional damper . the torque specs. i have are 1985 and before 60 ft-lbs , 1986 to 1995 70 ft-lbs , 1996 and later 74 ft-lbs . can't find any specs. for the pulley bolts .

Cast iron heads are 30 lb/ft of torque. There is no sequence. Just tighten them all down very slowly in a criss cross pattern. In other words all at the same time.
