Well, I'll just give you all the commandments, maybe that will help a little more?

"And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God

ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.' (No praying to the elephant dude.)

TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'

(Basically you mustn't worship any statues or anything like that, that's right, I'm looking at you, tree worshippers.)

THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.' (That means, no violation against The name of Jesus.)

FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.' (the day of rest, usually Sunday, this is why we have Sunday schools.)

FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.' (No back chat, also respect your parents.)

SIX: 'You shall not murder.' (Don't kill anyone.)

SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.' (Don't have relashionships with more than one person.)

EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.' (Don't take things from other people without they're permission.)

NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.' (Don't blame your 'neighbour.)

TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.' (By neighbour, he means your friend.)

Answer:

The Ten Commandments are summarized into two categories:

"...Thou shalt LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the FIRST and great Commandment.

"And the SECOND is like unto it, Thou shalt LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. On these TWO Commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matt.22:37-40)

These are the two basic relationships the Commandments teach us, that form the foundation for man's future as the Eternal Children of God. And if, in the Judgment, any man refuses to bow to his Creator... and refuses to respect his 'brothers and sisters' ... he will not be granted entry into God's Family.

"For OUT OF THE HEART proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies..." (Matt.15:19).

Respect for one another is the big lesson man needs to learn in this first phase of life. It's a harsh lesson that's most deeply impressed upon us by our experiencing "selfish disrespect," taught to us by our present selfish fleshly nature... and the "god of this world" whom our "first parents" chose to worship and obey in the beginning.

The Bible tells us that our nature needs to be "changed."

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep [die], but WE SHALL ALL BE CHANGED..." (I Cor.15:51).

God is going to "change" the human heart in the end, and write His laws within them: "...I will put My laws into their mind, and WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people..." (Heb.8:10).

Then, love and respect for our Maker... and for one another... will become our nature.
