If you've not changed the codes, it must be 000 or 999.

Do you mean the radio unlock code? If you do, it is 4893 for my daughter's 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage.

Pull the radio out. On top of the radio there is a 4 digit number that's how you unlock it.. My car is a 2001 Leganza daewoo and the number is 4316.

Look in and on the glove compartment for a sticker or a small card with the code. If it is not there you need the serial number from the radio and call the dealer for the unlock code.

you have to have a special tool. it looks like a u. you can get them at a local parts store.

User Avatar

Only the dealer can provide this information. Some places will actually unlock it for you for free. You will have to have paperwork to prove you own the car.

If your 2001 Tahoe radio is locked, you need the user code to unlock it. You need to turn the ignition on with the engine off. Then you press the Hour button until it flashes, enter the first two numbers of the code, and then press the minute button and enter the last two numbers. After you enter the code you hit AM/FM and your radio should be unlocked.

Radio codes are specific to each radio. The code is on a small card and is sometimes found in the glove compartment. To get the code without the card you have to get the serial number of the radio and call the dealer.

It is different for every radio. If you dont have the code with your owners manual, you will need to call the dealership. Usually, they will need the serial number off of the back of the radio, as well as a way to prove that the radio is not stolen.

I looked up the owner's manual - I also have a 2001 Chevy Astro Van, and there is a setting called resyncronization. If you hold both buttons down, the lock and unlock, for 8 seconds, it will recycle the alarm and synchronize it to the key fob remote. When the alarm goes off, just hit unlock twice like you normally would, and it should be fixed.

You don't say what kind of fluid but go to auto zone and have the codes read for free. I added anti-freeze because it was completely empty. Where do I find the codes?

User Avatar

You are supposed to turn the ignition key in position ON and have it there for at least 50 minutes.

User Avatar

I believe it is 26 gallons if you do not have an Owners manual. you should be able to Google it , But the last I checked My 2001 Astro it was 26 gallons.

You can find the block heater cord behind the grill of your 2001 Chevy Astro. The cord will be on the drivers side of the grill.
