in automotiverebuild and repair the torque on any cork or rubber gasket is 7 to 14 foot pounds the reason for this is any more pressure will pinch the material and brake it at that point if the problem is leaking valve cover and its in a van its probably not enough air flow across the back of the engine fixed mine by using (red) permatex on both sides of gaskets assembling and let sit overnight hope this helps
In 1977, the only one available had a 2BBL carb on it, it was rated officially from Mopar as 195HP@3600RPM and 320lb-ft@200RPM torque. This is from 1977 Chrysler data.
I don't know if it is the same but the EGR valve on my 1977 Ford 302 was underneath the carburetor at the back of a spacer

it is in one of the valve covers
The timing is 2 degrees before top dead center for a stock 400 cid. At least, that is what it indicates on my valve cover. My truck is a 1977 W200 with a stock 400 cid engine. Because of changes in the composition of today's gas, over what is used to be when that label was glued to my valve cover in 1977, many have suggested that it would run better if the timing were advanced a few degrees. Others have said that the carb should be recalibrated as well. Hope that helps.
