According to the Bentley VW service manual, Jetta/Golf Monsoon Amps from May 1999 thru 2002 year model have these wiring colors: Front Amp Wiring Harness: Bass Speaker, left front = brown/white (-), blue/white (+) [pins 13 & 14 respectively] Trebble Spkr, left front = black (-), white (+) [pins 11 & 9 respectively] Bass Speaker, right front = brown/red (-), red (+) [pins 15 & 16 respectively] Trebble Spkr, right front = yellow (-), black (+) [pins 10 & 12 respectively] Rear Amp Wiring Harness: Bass Speaker, left rear = brown/green (-), red/green (+) [pins 2 & 1 respectively] Trebble Spkr, left rear = black (-), brown (+) [pins 6 & 5 respectively] Bass Speaker, right rear = brown/blue (-), blue (+) [pins 4 & 3 respectively] Trebble Spkr, right rear = green (-), black (+) [pins 8 & 7 respectively] Yep, it's an 8 speaker system. So if you have 1 amp, well...you have only half of the system. But anyways... Some of the colors are duplicates according to the manual, so I provided the pin numbers also in case that helps any. Of course, none of the colors would match up at the other end...where the speaker attaches if you are looking at those wires in the Jetta. I hear that even experienced stereo geeks have problems getting these amps to work when deviating from the factory unit. Good luck, and may peace be with you. THE 3 RED WIRES ARE POWER 12 VOLT. THE OTHER ONES ARE FOR THE SPEAKERS
Use the wiring from the monsoon amp behind the spare
high level inputs
you can get you an rca jack and run it i doubt that cd player has rca inputs besides that it should be a breeze
the monsoon amp is located by the spare tire
The radio amp on a 99 VW Jetta is located under the driver side dash. It is in the fuse number 42 slot.
Earth Quake: Red is L+, Purple is L-, White is R+, Brown is R- , Orange is Remote
you need an amp and an amp wiring kit
You should use 14 AWG wiring on all 15 amp circuits.
An amp wiring kit can be purchased any place that sells auto sound systems. Two national retailers that sell these kits are Walmart and Bestbuy. Sonic Electronix is an online retailer who sells amp wiring kits.
It is not recommended. The wiring is made to handle 15 amp.
Not unless you change the wiring for that circuit. The breaker protects the wiring and if you install a 40 amp breaker on a 15 amp wire circuit you will have a fire in your home.
Never. The wiring would not support that much current.
