Generally you will need a flathead and/or Phillips screwdriver depending on the particular plug. And a pair of wire cutters & wire strippers for cutting the wire to length, and stripping off the insulation.
Obviously an important safety tip is to make absolutely sure there is not power going to the plug before performing any work on it. Household current can kill instantly.
Wiring a Cat-5 plug only requires 2 things; the color-code map (which pin goes where), and a crimping tool.
A good crimping tool can cost over $100.00 US, or you can get a tool that will work for several plugs at a much lower price.
Some tools don't have ground wires because the tool exterior is plastic or some other material that will not conduct electricity. The ground is not required unless the case is metal and can become electrified if the "hot" wire touches it.Sometimes the tool's plug is "polarized" by having one contact larger than the other so it can only be inserted into an outlet in one direction, insuring that the same wire is always the ground or neutral and the other is always the "hot" wire. That insures that the tool's ground is always connected to the outlet ground.Other times the plug has a third prong that is the ground or neutral prong and can only be inserted one way in the outlet to insure the ground of the tool is always connected to the ground of the outlet.
No, the wide prong is neutral it is the white wire. The narrow prong is hot it is the black wire. The round prong (in a 3 wire plug) is safety ground it is the green wire.
Depends on type of plug and where it's supposed to go.
Drivers side, front plug.
You get a two wire plug!! You should never try to skip connecting the ground wire, the soul purpose of the ground is to create safety for you and others around you. the problem is that someone may assume that the ground is part of the wire since the plug is a three wire!! \You will have to skip the ground terminal on the plug. Usually plug has a green screw or wire, ground pin is longer than two other and round in shape.
Spark plug wire not connected to spark plug? Spark plug wire connected to Wrong spark plug? Vacuum line disconnected? Bad spark plug or wire?
the radio wil have a standard "ISO" plug set at the back of it, this is mainly standard across the range of vehicles, depending on what it is you need to do most things will plug straight into these, (xtremesoundsbham@aol.com)
bad spark plug wire.
I need a lot more information. I don't know what you mean by four wire plug. What does it look like, what was it used for? What three wire plug are you installing, what does it look like, what is it used for. What color ore the wires?
You need electrical wire, electrical tape, a screwdriver, and wire cutters. All these items are necessary to complete that task. You also need to have the outlet box that you will be using.
to the furtherest plug! Plug #1 is probably the longest wire
how to replace plug wire on a toro mower
It is in the middle of the block. Under left front wheel look for wire and reach in with left hand. Wire/socket to connect to plug points up. I found it but cannot get an answer on plug wrench size. Good Luck had the same problem use the tools under the seat a liitle akward but gets the job done
If it is the same plug every time, I would say the plug or wire is grounding out some where. Try replacing the plug the the wire.
A 2-pole wire will not work on a 3-pole plug. You will need to use a 3-pole wire on a 3-pole plug.
To install a slide gate opener you will need a standard and Phillips screwdriver, an electric drill, wire cutters and a wire stripper, a socket set, and possibly a welder.
Change the cord/plug on the stove to a four wire cord/plug. When installing the new plug remove the grounding strip that connects the center lug in the stove wiring block to the frame of the stove. Connect the white wire from the new plug to the center lug. Connect the green wire from the plug to the stove frame.
