2) Because ... i don't really know. but it could be about how the people met at the continental congress so they sent British troops to make sure there was nothing planned and they new that there might be war.
This led to the Revolutionary War which happened bewtween 1775-1783

The Colonists were angry that the British were not listening to them. The British had a view of "virtual representation," that all territories would be taken into account. The colonists held the view of "real representation," that the rep. had to be from the territory he represented and has to live there in order to understand the needs of the people. The people were also being taxed by the British. They were used to self taxation, but the British imposed the tea tax and stamp tax on the colonies. Thomas Paine, a writer at the time, also encouraged that the colonies break away from the British government in his paper "Common Sense." There are other reasons that built up resentment, such as the Quartering Act, Intolerable Act, Quebec Act, and French and Indian War. Eventually, these problems led to Lexington and Concord, the first armed confrontations against the British, which basically started the Revolutionary War.
