When is Pocahontas's birthday?

No one knows exactly when Pocahontas was born (no calendars), but it is believed it was sometime in 1595. BTW, Pocahontas was a nickname- her real name was Matoaka- and later she changed it to Rebecca. Do some reading on the REAL Pocahontas- better than the Disney story. It is in the book "Tales of Famous Americans" by Connie & Peter Roop. It is on page 2-7.

Why is there more than one version of Pocahontas?

Because the real story is never told. Many people have taken the story by Smith and turned it into cartoons and movies. He never met her and lied in a book he wrote after she died. She was held hostage by the colonists for 4 years and became a Christian changing her name to Rebecca. When John Rolfe came to Jamestown with his tobacco seeds he also married Pocahontas and they left for England. She had a baby boy there and died about age 19. Her grave is in England. Her real story is so much better than the silly legend told about her.
