All of Australia has these "ranches" (an American term) and they are actually called sheep or cattle stations. They are found in all of the states and territories, even Tasmania. cattle and sheep stations in western Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory can easily cover tens of thousands of square kilometres.

Australia's largest cattle station (and also the world's largest) is Anna Creek station, in South Australia. It has an area of 34 000 sq kms, the equivalent of 6 million acres.
