i work at a Honda dealer. Honda recommends for best handling and braking best tires go on the rear. dm @ hv. gbg.
The new tires should be placed on the rear axle to lessen the risk of hydroplaning.
the axle or trans-axle
Yes, it matters. Preferably each axle should have the same tires EXACTLY.
First off you should not install tires that are not the correct size. But if you do, make sure the tires on each axle are both the same size. Both front tires same size, and both rear tires same size.
They all have to be the same size. They can be different brands but even then make sure the tires on the front axle are the same brand an the tires on the rear axle are the same brand. Do not mix brands on the same axle.
That is the 'axle'.
No, but make sure all 4 tires are the exact same size. No exceptions to this on a 4wd vehicle. Also if the tires are worn badly I would recommend you replace both tires on the same axle at once. The wear difference in a new tire and worn tire on the same axle can cause the vehicle to drift or pull to one side. If your rotate your tires as you should all 4 tires will wear evenly. That way you replace all 4 at the same time which is always the best.
Inner fender, axle, or steering component.
The axle the big round rod that runs between the tires. On rear axle the rear differential is located
Yes , you can, as long as same tires on one axle.
It depends on what you are doing, gas milage or pulling oversize tires. for oversize tires 3.73 saving gas 3.55
