You don't want to do that. If your cars check engine light is on, you need to get it examined by a mechanic. Also, if you disconnect any battery terminal, your engine will not start or power any electronics while it is running.
Remove negative battery terminal for 10 mins.
Remove the negative battery terminal for three minutes.
disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes.
Take the negative terminal off the battery for 15 mins.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal then press the horn button for a few seconds. Wait 10 minutes and reconnect the negative battery terminal. If there are no more issues causing the check engine light to illuminate the light will stay off.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal for at least 30 seconds.
Disconnect the negative terminal to the battery for 3 min.. It worked for me :)
Disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for 2 minutes will reset the check engine light, but if the problem that caused it to turn on originally still exists, it will come on again.
Disconnect the red terminal on battery and let it sit for 15-30 minutes, reconnect the battery and check engine light should be off because the computer has been reset.
You can either go to a mechanics shop to have the check engine light reset or you can do it manually by yourself. You will need to remove the negative battery terminal for 1 minute and then reconnect it.
You can turn off the check engine light by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a couple of minutes.
I have a 98 mystique, and when the check engine light comes on, I simply disconnect the positive battery terminal for a couple of minutes. When I replace it, the check engine light is cleared. It resets the computer.
