Yes they are known as Araucanas/Americanas

The "Easter Egg Chicken", This unusual breed gets its name from the Indian tribe of Chile where they were first discovered. Araucanas lay beautiful colored eggs of blue-green shades from turquoise to deep olive. These natural Easter Eggs will amaze your friends and make a great "show and tell" project for school. Adults are of medium size with pea combs and our breeding stock is selected for their ability to produce colored eggs. They exhibit a wonderful combination of colors and color patterns and 10 or 20 of these birds make an absolutely beautiful laying flock that is extremely hardy and will be the talk of the town. Baby chicks come in all colors, plain and fancy, just like the adults. This is a unique breed and great fun to have when the colored eggs start coming. Our Araucanas are recommended for egg laying color and ability and not for exhibition. You can find out more about them here : http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/product/araucanas_americanas.html

There are two pure-breed chickens that lay blue eggs. Some lay green, but the Standard calls for blue only.

These two breeds are the Araucana and Ameraucana.

However, EasterEggers usually lay blue, green, and olive eggs (but can lay ANY color egg). Easter Eggers are MUTTS, not to be confused with either Aruacanas or Ameraucanas, which are real breeds with a standard of perfection. They are crosses between a blue-egg laying bird (araucana, ameraucana) and some other breed; usually egg layers.

The EasterEggers can still lay blue/green eggs because the blue egg gene is dominant over white.

The common "green egg" layers are the americana/araucana as well as Easter eggers (EEs) which are hybrids between americanas/araucanas and other breeds.

Easter eggers can lay eggs colored light green, greenblue, blue, lavender and rose with various shades of any of the above. The Araucana is a true breed recognized by all breeders clubs. You can see eggs from these chickens by following the link below "see related links"Another breed, the south American Collonca lays true blue eggs and may be a progenitor of the Araucana.Legbar hens from Europe were popular in the 1930/1940's.
