Hanoverian
The Hanoverian is a warmblood bred specifically for jumping, eventing, and dressage. According to the American Hanoverian Society, "The goal of the Hanoverian breeding program is to produce a noble horse with a cooperative temperament, elastic gaits, correct conformation, and outstanding ability in international equestrian disciplines."
For children, Connemara ponies are also really good jumpers - I once had a 14hand Connemara that could jump 1.2meters
I believe that there is no specific breed of horse that is "best" for jumping. I think that a breed can have good jumpers, but there are other breeds to that can produce some superb jumpers! The horse that placed 3rd at the Rolex Kentucky 3 Day Event 2010 was an off the track Thoroughbred (OTTB). However MANY MORE horses are brilliant for riding!!!
Another breed is the Dutch Warmblood! The show jumpers in the Olympics use these horses because of their powerful hind legs!
There are loads of breeds that are great jumpers just depends how you train them there is no 1 particular breed that excells in dressage i meen Thoroughbreds show jump dont they but they are also raced and hunted! Other horses good at jumping are Warmbloods like the Oldenburg, Hanoverian, Trakehner but these horses are also useful for dressage. There are plenty more but as the person before me said, alot of breeds or cross breeds are good at jumping. Hope this helps!!
Any breed of horse can make a good jumper. It really depends on if the horse has a talent for the sport and likes what it does. Thoroughbreds set many original world records for jumping but now many people prefer European warmbloods due to their calmer temperament's.
the best ones are said to be: appaloosa Belgian warm blood budyonny iomud kisber felver Latvian salerno sardinian selle francaise swedish warmblood tersk my horse is a cross between a Irish draft and thoroughbred they are said to make good competition horses
Warmblood breeds like hanoverians, danish warmbloods, draft horses crossed with thoroughbreds, etc. are a popular choice for jumping, and there are many hot blooded breeds used for jumping, like thoroughbreds and arabians.
Some people say paints are also good for jumping. Irish ponies/hunters r also good jumpers!
Most horse breeds are good for jumping, but Quarter Horses are a very good choice.
can humans eat buttercupa ?
Belgian Studbook. It's a jumping horse
the best horse for jumping is not a heavy built horse like a shire but a light built horse like an arab!
yes the selle francias is great in all eniglish diciplines, expecially jumping.
HI, the most popular horse breeds for jumping are....... Andalusian Thoroughbred and Arabian and the most popular jumping pony breeds are.... Connemara, Welsh, Shetland, and Miniature horses ~Hope that answers your question~
yess! any horse breed can do cross country or jumping.... BUT a lipizzaner stallions is really fast but cant really handle the jumps....but with practice any horse can do amazing!
thoroughbreds
My first horse was an arabian named All about me and she was the best. get an arabian. There is no one 'best' breed for a first horse. In reality you shouldn't even be concerned about the breed in the beginning. You should be more concerned with if the horse is overall suitable for you and your goals, things like breed should be considered last.
probably a honeverian, holsteiner, or a dutch warmblood. possibly throughbreds or other warmbloods
That would be the New Zealand Performance horse, which was developed for use in the sporthorse disciplines of Dressage, Jumping, and eventing.
It REALLY depends on what you plan to use the horse for.
a miniature horse is a great carting breed and there ya go folks
Horses that are excellent examples of their breed, or retired champions from racing, show jumping..etc.
