Arabian horses are not wild horses, they are domestic horses. They are kept, raised and bred all over the world, including the US, Canada, Europe and Arabia of course. Arabian horses are generally more fragile animals and many prefer to live in stalls, rather than outdoor keeping, but although stalls combined with daily turnout make for a lovely home for an Arabian horse, if a horse has a large paddock with lots of room to roam, and a safe, secure run-in shelter to go in when it needs, it will do wonderfully
.
Very easily. They were origianlly found in the desert and can go for long periods of time without much water of food.
They have thinner nostrils which makes it easier for them to breath in the hot weather and are known for being thin-skinned, which also helps with reducing heat. Arabs raised in Desert conditions will not grow a "winter" coat and this too helps to prevent over-heating.
Their bodies are well adapted to deal with the Desert life. They have larger hooves to help travel across the sands as well.
All Arabians are 'desert bred' as this is where they come from. The term is just used to denote their heritage. All Arabians are essentially the same, some are just more pure in bloodline or strain than others. The Arabian originated in the Middle East, recent evidence however has proven that the Arabian never actually came from 'Arabia' as we know it today, but came from an area close to Iran. It was also believed that the Arabian was the oldest purebred horse in the world, but again new research is shedding light on the fact that this is not actually true, but that the Arabian began as a cross between the Caspian and Turkoman breeds. The Arabian is a 'hotblooded' breed and is known for it's speed and endurance over long distances. They are small horses and very refined in appearance. For more information I suggest looking up the Arabian breed registry.
