You would have to be a little more specific.
100 meters
A crossover cable is used to connect a Hub or Switch to another Hub or Switch - or a PC to another PC.
Use a straight through cable, just as you would with a hub or switch.
If you connecting a hub to another device then the cable must be placed in the uplink port, or a port that can switch between a client port and an uplink port.
Straight Cable is used to connect a device to a different type of devices Eg: PC to a Switch PC to a Hub Switch to a Router E.t.c. Cross Cable is used to connect a device to a similar type of devices Eg: PC to PC Switch to Switch E.t.c.
Crossover
Connections between any two equipments of the same kind. For purposes of cabling, you can consider computers and routers as one kind of equipment, and switches and hubs as another kind. This aids in remembering which cable to use. So, you need a crossover cable to connect computer-computer; computer-router; router-router; hub-hub; hub-switch; switch-switch.
A straight cable is used to connect a PC to a hub, switch, or router.
The standard Ethernet cables (UTP) basically limits the maximum distance between hubs, or between switches, or between a hub and a switch, to about 100 meters. If you use a longer cable than that, the signal will degrade too much, and the network may become unstable. The standard Ethernet cables (UTP) basically limits the maximum distance between hubs, or between switches, or between a hub and a switch, to about 100 meters. You need to use a straight type of connection. 568A or 568B depending which type your network is using.
In ethernet terms, a straight-through cable connects a client device to a hub, switch or router (straight-through meaning the connection is pin-to-pin, the opposite of a cross-over cable, which connects RX-TX and vice-versa).
A hybrid hub supports multiple cable types and can be used to support client with different cable types.
