There are hundreds of varieties of tea, and almost as many different ways to drink them. One variety that is uncommon in the western world is fermented tea. This method of tea preparation and drinking began in China. The tea goes under an open-air fermentation, which can take from several months to several years, and causes the smell of the tea to be altered as well as the taste. Blended teas can provide a unique taste to otherwise boring varieties. Green tea infused with orange and jasmine or white tea infused with blueberry and honey are two examples of blended teas, but there are hundreds of varieties - most of which can be created at home with a few simple ingredients.
