Almost any other species that needs similar water conditions to, and does not get large enough to eat the Betta. I would also avoid the species that are known to be fin nippers. Good community type fish are Tetras, Danios, Rasboras, Dwarf Cichlids like Rams etc. Just remember the basic rules when stocking the tank. The basic rules for keeping fish sucessfully are as follows. :- 1 inch of fish must have at least 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank must have a permanently running 'cycled' filter. Every tank must have at least 50% of its water replaced every week.
yes they can.
I don't think so.
Fighting Fish do eat each other so, yes
no you can not put a female and male fighting fish in the same tank because they will just kill each other
Some male betta fish are not as aggressive as others.
No. The females will kill each other.
no because they will end up killing each other
The male of the species has brighter colours and is a much larger fish than the female
First of all, male and female fighting fish (bettas) shouldn't be kept together. They are both territorial and agressive. They may be fighting over territory. It may also be that the male is ready to mate and the female isn't.
They do not normally get a chance to pick. The male will kill her if she will not or can not spawn with him.
Yes they will.
Beta fish do NOT like other fish, they may try to kill the other fish or get seriously injured by the other fish.So probably not.
