Nothing, Other then it can roll anytime it wants.
You can only do this in park ... Turn off your truck ,apply the parking brake and turn your truck back on .
Don't know the year of the truck, but check your brake lights. On year models that you have to press the brake to shift, without a brakelight signal you can't get out of park. Turn the key halfway between lock and on and you can get it out of park.
My truck did that once or twice. Both times it was because the fuse had blown that powers the brake lights. I did also find out that if you shut the truck off and turn the key on that you can get it into netrual, then you can start the truck and move it.
With the ignition off set the park brake then turn the truck on and the light will be off
Probably a bad ignition switch.
Read your lease. it should addrewss what will happen if you turn it in before the lease is up. Likely you WILL have to pay.
RESPONSIBILTIES of TRUCK TURN-BOY
No but, be sure it has come to a complete stop before you put it in park.

the car will probably roll backwards or forwards if it is on a hill. If the car is on a flat area of the ground, nothing.
No, as long as you come to a complete stop before you put it in park.
