i would report it stolen. if the payments are made the loan company can and probably will come after you for the money. If you report it stolen to the cops you can at least report it to the insurance company and the loan company and that should remove your responsibility.

What is the difference between desertion of a spouse and abandonment of a spouse?

There is for the most part no difference in the terms. Although how either is defined is determined by the laws of the state where the couple resided at the time the act occurred. Desertion or abandonment is not simply defined as a spouse living the marital residence. It is defined by the circumstances in which the absentee spouse left and the consequences resulting in the act.

Are the inheritance rights of an x wife above sibling?

Generally, an ex-spouse is not an heir at law. Therefore, they would inherit nothing unless the decedent left a will that specifically left property to the spouse even if there was a later divorce. If the decedent died intestate the ex-spouse has no right to any inheritance. You can check the laws of intestacy for your state at the related question link provided below.

What can you do if your spouse left you and married someone in another state?

Report the spouse to the legal authorities in that other state in the town where the spouse lives ASAP. Call the police and ask to speak to a detective. Call the district attorney's office and ask to speak with an assistant district attorney. Be prepared to send them a copy of your marriage license, and any other information you have such as their social security number, for proof that your spouse is already married to you.

If you are married and your spouse dies and you are not living together and the property is in the spouses name what happens to it?

The answer depends on many factors. It depends on whether you live in a community property state and when your spouse acquired the property. It depends on whether your spouse left a will and if the property was devised in the will. It depends on whether there is a provision in your state law whereby a disinherited spouse can claim a share of the estate by "election" if the property was devised to another person. If there was no will then you can check the laws of intestacy in your state in the link at the related question below. You should contact an attorney in your area to determine if you have any interest in the property.

Does the surviving spouse have the right to live in the spousal home after the death of a spouse?

That depends on whether your spouse left a will and the provisions in the will or if they died without a will (intestate). If your spouse left the home to you in their will the estate must be probated and title will pass to you. If they provided you with a life estate in their will you can continue to live there for the duration of your natural life. If they left it to someone else, their children, you may have a statutory right to a share. If they died without a will you may have a statutory share under the state laws of intestacy which you can check at the related question link provided below. You need to consult with an attorney who can review your situation and explain your rights and options.
