first check the bulbs. if they are ok, there is a wiring harness on the left trunk support. trace it down to where it goes through the felt liner of the trunk. right in that area sometimes the wires break. if you see exposed or broken wires, repair them and your problems will be through. check that you have power to the transmission selector switch on the side of the transmission. This same switch also lights up the selected gear on the PRNDL. Power comes from the gage fuse.
Check the bulbs, the fuse and the brake light switch.
Apperently there are no fuses for the reverse light. First check the wiring that goes down the trunk. The wire tend to split due to the trunk going up and down.
The bulbs are accessed from inside the trunk. You would remove the trim panel to access the bulb.
Usually it does not. Unless your remote control unit is on the same fuse along with the dome lights.

im having the same problem on a 89 Camry already replaced the yellow box lamp failure sensor found at junk yard for 50bucks dealer wanted 250 but the lights still are not working
